FEW RAINDROPS
IN SUNDAY: FALL
The first rain to fall in Medford
since June 27, fell In Medford last
evening, but at that was only a light
sprinkle (or a short time, amounting
to what In weather bureau parlance
is known as a trace, too small to
measure.
However, in Talent the precipita
tion was heavier, as likewise In one
or two sections of the Applegate, and
at Union creek there were several
light r.howcrs lasting over a period
of several hours, which laid the dust,
but people coming to the city from
Union creek this morning report that
apparently no rain fell at Prosurct.
Altogether, tho rainfall was spotted
as to quantity.
All this rain seemed coincident
with tho electrical storm In the Sis
kiyou early in the evening accom
panied by rain ror some distance
this side or the mountain, and which
went on southeast leaching the Cas
cade divide and skirting tho divide
north. '
This storm was accompanied by
some thunder and much lightning
or the sheet sort, which started eight
lightning tires along Vie divide in
the Crater National forest, all small
one.
The sheet of lightning accom
panying tho electrical storm were
very spectacular, lighting tip the
entire mountain country at times,
and this blanket lightning which ac
companied the rain at Union creek
afforded the cottagers and other at
that resort a beautirul spectacle.

FLANS RESIGNING

Attorney 'deorge, M. .Robert' eo-urr-''
sel for'-DrB.vC. Alison, county-physician,
appeared before the county
court this morning and was granted
an extension of "a week or ten days"
in which to lie a' memoranda In
behalf of hla .client. Attorney Rob
ert said- that the memoranda would
be In the: nature of a statement,
showing the extent of Dr. Wilson's
activities InV-alth work and expen

Attorney Roberts declared, "I can
assure the court that Dr. Wilson,- will
not resign. ' ' ' :
The attorney said that newspaper
reports, predicting thls.; "prejudiced
the case," and that Dr. "Wilson was
entitled to consideration "upon
something more than evidence that
would not be permissible in a higher
court." Attorney Roberts said that
a grand Jury Investigation was wel
comed." He declared that the "pres
ent dissension and turmoil was due
to a disturbing faotor, now removed,"
and "Dr. Wilson I assuming Vie role
of a political pawn."
The county court last week heard
the defense side at a hearing and held
a decision in abeyance. The action
this morning delays It further.
L The present sttuatlon was brought
about by Dr. . Wilson ousting Mrs.
Lydla King who shortly afterwards
filed serious' charges, alleging misuse
of funds, appropriating county medic
inal alcohol for social uses and ac-
ceptlng a $20 check from an aged
Oold Hill district resident, and allog- i
