way we hurried and caught clear views

Klamath and Euwana Lake and the
funny, lumbering, ungainly pelicans
that dot their shores. Wo called at
the Hotel Early which is one of the
most attractive hotels In Klainnth
Falls. It. Is located on tho northeast
corner of Main street In Klamath
Falls, formerly operated as the Hall
Hotel Annex, has boon opened by
J. E. Early as managing ownor.
Tho Pelican Grill is a delightful
place to dino and serves a delicious
meal at most reasonnblo rates with
surprising promptness.
There are too many handsomo
buildings In tho city to forget to
speak of them. The First National
Bank building, tho Wlllard Hotel and
tho Early Hotel.
Wo passe. l the Crater Garage on
tho right Just before we reached the
brldgo. This is one of the best
oqulnpcd and lurgoHt guruges In the
city nnd offers ti'io highest typo of
expert service to tho public. Klam
nth Falls Is building n handsome new
cement brldgo at the west end or
town.
A quick trip soon brought us to
the Orocn Springs Pnclflo Junction
nnd then to Ashland. The Green
Springs road Is, to us, ono of tho
scenic gems of southern Oregon.
Coming over it, wo spied deer fre
quently as they dashed across the
road. At tho brink of Green Springs
Hill wo had n glorious view of a
wonderful sunset, golden with tinges
of red, ovor tho valley and ,hnlf way
down a distant view of the city of
Ashland.
Wo stopped at tho Southern Ore
gon Information ' Bureau for cool
drinks and light lunches. This resort
Is owned by "Red" Piper nnd wire.
They greet tourists so cordially
giving them any desired information
promptly and clearly that they are
surely appreciated. Thcro la a large
(lining room, meals served at all
hours during tho day. Cabins,
showers nnd groceries.
Ashland lias its ups and clown of
course, lying oil Uhc mountain foot
hills as it docs, but Unit only adds
to lis attractiveness. It, too, has
lovely buildings. Tho Llthla Hotel,
beautifully planned and constructed,
is one of the finest buildings In the
Hoguo Rlvor valley nnd up to the
miutito In modem equipment. Ash
laud's wide-awake chamber of com
merce Is responsible for Llt.bln Park
and Its loveliness. It's almost as
popular with Medford, as It Is In Its
own city, and Mcdlordltcs make good
use ot It.
The Twin Plunges are another of
Ashland's rerent developments and,
along with other nearby towns, Mod
ford people enjoy Viat also. The
Twin Plunges are constructed on the
site of the old Nalntorlum In Ash
land, In tho comer ol the -ground
Is a pretty brick building which
holds the lockers and showers. To
tho cast side ot this 1 a wide con
crete court sunk into which are two
large cement pools. On the west
side Is a spacious concrete dancing
floor, Brilliantly lighted at night. It
Is a lovely slcht.
Ashland also has a restaurant that
Is known everywhere for tho excel
lency of Us food, reasonable rates
and fine service
