The taxi dance, formerly peeu

tan hot snots has come to the
east Texas oil fields.
Within the sound of puffing
rigs along tho Glndewatcr-Long

frame structures have sprung up,
and here the oil mnn may dunce
for a dime.
Each establishment retains
retinue of hostessos, selected for
their ability to' guide even the
most heavy-footed over the oaken
floors.
Contrary to tho popular con-
rentfon of such dance halls, tb
proceedings hers are extreme'
decorous. The customer buys as
mnnv tickets as he desires, dances
.nl.fflnlv with the lady of his
choice, then retires to the side
lines to watch.
' Just to make sure that
"rough stuff" takes place, brawny
"bouncers" ore on duty.
Maybe thero would bo fewer
conferences and things, if the na
lions woo id get together on the
basis of canceling the war doubts.
