The cou court, composed of
County JuiIko Alnx Kpni-row and
ConiinisBioiH'iH Victor llinsoll mill
John RurneburK, has left on a tour
of inspection of court houses re
cently constructed in I lie Willam
ette valley and if time permils will
invade the state of Washington on
the same mission. -
The purpose of the trip Is to se
cure information and data to he
used in the selection next week of
an architect for the pitoposed $-!&,-000
Jackson county court house.
This matter has heen hauRins fire
for several months and. while It
was not so stated, it is known that
the county court also wants n
chance to consider the prohlem
away from the stress and interrup
tions at home. The counly court
will probably have u decidiiiK con
ference "somewhere in the Willam
ette valley."
Return Monday
They expect to return Monday
afternoon, but may visit the U'Kis
laturc to confer with the Jackson
county delegation on pending meas
ures of a "racketeer" nature in the
final rush. Two or three such bills
are said to increase the lax burden
without creating anything but a
few more jobs.
A dozen or so p'.ans have been
submitted for the new court house
which will be erected on the Wash
ington school site. Willi the selec
tion of an architect the next step
will he to adopt plans and make
alterations and then call for bids,
now scheduled for the middle of
April. The counly court expects
to start work with t lie close of
school in June.
