Much friendly fun was had with and at the expense of the Legionnaire waiters who as sisted the committee. What was lacking in skill was made up in repartee. National Defense Conference The interest of members of the Medford unit of the American Le gion auxiliary this week was in Washington, D. C, where the sixth annual women's patriotic confer ence on national defense wns open ing. The conference is being held under tho co-sponsorship of the auxiliary anil the Daughters of the American Revolution and hun dreds of delegates from all parts of the country representing -10 na tional women's organizations are ittending..
