powal that valley shippers attend
a meeting to be held in Tortiand,
about February 3 5, for a round
tablo discussion with the shippers
of tho northwest of the 1931 Bart
lett pear situation, to seek nteanst
for stabilization,, of prices and
other major features of the pear
industry. Letters were read show
ing that sentiment in the north
west districts favored such a meet
ing. Among the lending questions
proposed will be tho 1931 oonnery
prices.
Tho association decided to take
another week to consider the pro'
position and confer with outside
sources and local Interests.
There was an Informal discus
sion of the proposition at today's
session.
The New York pear committee
has requested telegraphic informa
tion on the pears in storage in this
