The public dances at Jackson
villo will be resumed, It was decid
ed by the city eouneil of Jackson
ville in session last night, follow
ing a reported general agreement
reached by the for and against
dance factions.
The dances, which were discon
tinued recently because of objec
tionable features protested by the
anti-dance faction, will in the fu
ture be under the auspices of the
Jacksonville commercial club.
They will be held In tho U. S. hull,
the first to take place next Satur
day night, and no drinking or
other objectionable features will
be permitted by the management.

Local society is looking forward
to the romantic holiday, now
slightly more than two weeks in
advance. And parties are being
arranged to celebrate St. Valen
tine's day. Cupids and hearts,
which have decked shop windows
for many days, have inspired the
socially minded. And the lovely
little favors reminiscent of a pafi,
redolent with sentiment and gal
lantry, are already finding their
way to luncheon and dinner tables.
In addition to the private par
ties, plans aro being made for
several club events, details of
which will be announced soon.
