The well, No. 1 Wapaco of the
T. H. Slick estate, is about a mile
from the city's business section.
Lower connections were cut by
sand and blown out under great
pressure when it was being opened
for production. When it was com
pleted last October, the flow was
58,000 barrels daily.
Two companies of tho Oklahoma
National Guard wero ordered out.
All city firemen were ordered on
duty.
