In the Bible is seen by Sir Charles
Marston, British archaeologist, in
the recent Ur discoveries near
Babylon oT an expedition financed
by the University of Pennsylvania
and the British Museum.
Sir Charles, who is a well known
industrialist and student of arohae
olowy, cited the discovery of the
palace of the Princess Kclshauti
Nannar, whom he believes to have
been a sister of Belshazzar.
"Archaeology proves the sack of
Jerusalem actually happened,' Sir I
Charles said, "and it is quite feas- I
ible Daniel may have seen this I
palace." j

in Medford. Other visitors there

killed when the piano crashed at
midnight nt Melle. Becauso of the
fog the pilot decided to return to
Itrussels, but turning nt too low a
height the whig tip struck the
ground and tho plane wni wroeked.

SUIT DELAYED BY
CHILLY WEATHER
The suit of Mrs. Martha Miller
against Clarlhelte Elliott for half
interest in a newspaper contest
automobile won by Mrs. Elliott,
was adjourned this morning" be
cause of lack of heat In the court
room, It being too cold for wit
nesses, lawyers, spectators and the
court.
Mrs. Miller alleges that Mrs.
Elliott made a verbal agreement
that In the event she won, sho
would share on a GO-GO bads with
the plaintiff, in exchungo for
transportation provided by Mrs.
Miller during- the soliciting period.
Four witnesses for tho plaintiff
testified to this effect.
Tho trial will bo resumed thia
afternoon.
The Jury In the damago suit of
Mrs. Martha McClung against
John 11. GoHwick, landlord of tho
(irand Hotel, for alleged Injuries
received in an auto accident last
March returned a verdict In favor
of Mrs. McClung In the sum of
$3000. She sought $10,000.
It is understood an appeal will
bo filed.
Tho defense yesterday filed a
series of exceptions to the Instruc
tions of tho court to the jury.
Effective Monday, January
tho Southern Pacific placed 7500
shop men on full time schedule, It
was announced today by A. S.
Kosenbaum, district freight .and
passenger ngent with headquarters
in this city.
These men had been working
part time, which was all the time
actually required. While the full
time measure Is only temporary it
was done to put more money Into
I circulation, thereby Improving
businesa conditions. In hope that
