ceived by the Jackson County Hu
mane society, tells in an interest
ing manner how Sidney Franklin's
proposed bull fisht in New Jersey
was halted. The letter is of spe
cial interest to local humane work
ers as a telegram from the Jackson
county society was among the pro
tests wired to New Jersey.

Selection of a jury was begun
this morning in the circuit court in
the damage Htiit of Martha Mc
Clung against J. H. Goswick, both
residents of this city. Mrs. Mc
Clung alleges that as a result of
an auto crash at the Intersection
of Oakdale avenue and Eleventh
street last March she sustained in
juries. Including two broken ribs
and a severe skull Injury. She
seeks 510.000 damages.
