After the meeting a literary pro
gram was presented. Each mem
ber responded to the roll-call with
a shoit story or somo quotation of
literary value.
Provolt school held Its annual
Christmas program at the Provolt
community hall on the night of
December 18. All the pupils, un
der the direction of their teacher.
Miss llelga Kautto, participated.
Three short plays were presented
and several pantomime songs were
enjoyed. Little Kenneth Johnson
was considered quite the star per
former of the evening after his
rendition of "The r.lg Rock Candy
Mountain" on his harmonica. Ve

dress and wished everyone a Merry
Christmns In behalf of the school.
Santa Claus then appeared and
distributed presents to the chil
dren, with bags of candy and nuts
and oranges to, the audience. Much
credit Is due Miss Kautto for the
success of the evening.

finger on his right hand and hav

Lcmmon was employed in a wood
yard in Grants Pass. The accident
