Relief road work by the state

ers will receive their pay in time
for Christmas purchases. A new
crew will be placed on the work
next Monday in accordance with
the state highway commission's
policy to rotate the workers so as
to give all applicants a chance to
earn a few dollars.
County Engineer Paul Ryiinlns
announced today that 30 men were
employed on county road work in
the Butte Falls and Prospect dis
tricts, inasmuch as there is a fund
balance in these two districts.

FOR YULE LIGHTS
With only a short time remain
iiiK to register in the Garden club's
outdoor Christmas lighting contest,
all local people are urged to regis
ter their displays at once.
Entries may be phoned to the
Medford Chamber of Commerce or
to Mrs. Inland Meutzer, president
of the Garden club, and should in
clude information on the class of
display iu which exhibits are to be
registered.
Some of the attractive prixes of
fered for the winning displays are
now on display in the Chamber of
Commerce windows, including the
grand prize, a handsome electric
urn act, offered by the California
Oiegou Power company for the
best general residence display.
Judging will take place some time
during the holiday period from
Christmas to New Year.
