Annual St. Mark's Parish
Dinner Event of Friday
The annual dinner for St. Mark's j
parish will he held Friday evening,
December 12, in the parish house.
This is the one time of the year
when the different church societies
are asked , to meet together also
the people interested in the church
who are not members of the so
cieties. - . ,
Each lady is asked to provide
food Jn proportion to the size of
her family, as this will not be a
pay dinner. The meat, potatoes,
rolls, coffee, cream and sugar will
be furnished by the guild. Others
are asked to bring salad and pie.
Serving will begin at 6 p. m. After
dinner a short program and Ret
acquainted meeting will be held.

Hazaur Opens Thursday

Ninety-Three, by' Victor Hugo,
Mrs. Bowman, chairman of the
cooked food sale committee, re
ported $14.80 was made on the
sale given recently.
The following committee was
appointed to confer with the school
hoard concerning the Christmas
treats: Mrs. Shaffer, chairman;
Mis. Rum fey and Mra. White.
Tho high school had tho largest
percentage of parent. and friends
present at the meeting, and won
the prize for this month.

It developed that the unfortu
nate pair had been under observa
tion: that the wife had been placed
tn a local hospital, for medical
care, and by her own actions had
made It necessary to remove her
to the woman's ward of the county
jail, and that the couple had re
turned to the ApplcRute district.
Dr. R. C. Wilson, county physician,
told the county court and dffen
bacher. all had been done that
was possible to do. The court
promised to make another inves
tigation, and render uid. if necessary-

The social welfare,, department
of the county court. Is, equipped
with a complete' record of the
chronic Indigents of the Pacific
coast who motor from place to
place leading an impecunious ex
istence. The records give their
kin. and ere help is given, the
relatives are first asked to assist.
The indigent list of the county
contains between 35 and 40 more
names than for the same period
last year. Some are victims of
the times, while others are always
unfortunate. it has required much
thought and financial acumen on
the part of the county court to
make- the Indigent fund last out
the year.

of conclusive proof that Mollis has
been connected with the printing
of forged certificates, and believes
a larger crew worked under his di
rection to distribute them.
Yesterday James A. tireen at Sa
lem was sentenced to 10 years in
the state penitentiary for passing
tho forged travelers' checks. Mel

Portland.
