President's McsKugo
Mrs. Georgia Holloway, unit

sage to all those eligible to mem

auxiliary ns well as it" members:
The time of the year is nerc
when we ns n part of the state de

tional deportment must stress our
membership. Since the auxiliary
year has been changed from Janu
ary 1 to October 20 of the preced
ing year, the adjustment has been
little difficult but wo are sure
that in another year the readjust
ment will have been made.
Our nuxlllary has many fields of
service. In the child welfare de
partment we strive to contact nnd
help any ex-service man and his
family where help Is needed. Our
hospital committee sews nnd helps
furnish supplies and cash to the
veterans hospital in Portland as
well ns to give comfort and aid to
the family of the hospitalized man.
We have a community service
committee that Htrives to cooper
ate financially and as moral back
ers to all upbuilding and better
ment of our community lir every
possible way.
The work reached beyond our
Immediate community through its
Americanism nnd legislat've work
Not a measure comes before the
hands of our government for the
benefit of the ex-service man or
his family In any way thnt the
auxiliary national chairman of leg

and limit chairmen do not help
push It. Just at present Oregon Is
working for free text hooks In the
schools; thus by our work on thin
issue we will benefit every child
and Indirectly his family through
out the state. This is only one in
stance of what your name on the
membership roll will do.
You may receive a visit from
the membership committee before
the first of the year to remind you
that dues are delinquent after Jan
