eventually it, no iloulit, will. For civilization follows the sun,

IT IS, as Mr. Martin says, an inevitable part of the process of
Ki'iiwiiiK up.1 Mut f 1 in t is precisely the point ; when football
is concerned, we don't like to see Our colleges (trow up. Not be
cause we prefer the professional to the amateur spirit, nor lie
cause we particularly condemn the more o histicated attitude
of tile Kust, but because we prefer no "attitude' at all.
And that is fundamentally the Western eollexc spirit, "NO
ATTITl'lJB" at all. They refuse to prow up, they refuse to
adopt, an attitude, they remain just boys, natural boys, with
that eagerness of heart, and unbridled enthusiasm which is the
essential spirit of Youth.

When tho Ouhc of Wellington suit! Waterloo whs won on tin

West is superior to the Kast. in football, because it takes the

tains the West should ileploru the fact.
.
ON TtJK contrary, we feel the fact should be viewed with
pride and self satisfaction. Kor it nIhiws Hie YVesL hasn't

Why So Much Goiter?
Goiter seems very prevalent
among girls and young women In
this section (northern Illinois). Is
it because of our lake water or
climate? Is there anything one)
can do to avoid getting goiter.'?
(P.H.D.) 1 - .
Answer. To the best . of our
knowledge It is due td deficiency
of lodln In the food and water, and
perhaps in the air of the region.
Vou may easily make sure of a
proper iodln ration by adopting for
household use lodled salt Instead
of ordinary salt. Besides, I think
most of us should take a nip of
ordinary tincture of iodln once p.
week or so one drop of tincture
of lodin in a glassful or more of
water. It Is well for people living
in a region where goiter is preva
lent, as it Is In the middle western
Great Lakes region, to include in
the dietary liberal amounts of
fresh sea food (fish or shellfish)
the market affords, as well as
canned salmon, which retains a
considerable part of the iodin in
the fresh fish.
Kcstraiiiing Father Time
I felt the prescription for pre
venting hair turning gray worked
with me as long as I would work
with it, but I long since gave It up.
Mrs. , however, has kept it utj
and still Is a firm believer in It a
merits. I pay $2.12 every few
weeks for a fresh bottle for her.
When she slips and Father Time
shows his hand, she puts in a
couple of hours of steady plucking,
and a return to the bot'.le, and
then blooms forth as a ycung girl.
(C.M.H.)
Answer. The prescription re
ferred to Is one given by a Wash
ington skin and scalp specialist to
prevent graying of the hair.
Carbon dtsulphide 50.00
Precipitated sulphur 2.00 ,
Carbon tetrachloride 10.00
Direction: Kr.b on scalp with
cotton two nif.hts a week.
The figures are for grams or
cubic centimeters. Or for spoonfuls
or drams or whatever mcusure you
like.
I suggest that persons ' with
black or nark brovn hair may find
our homely old Iron and Tea help
ful to use either with the above
formula or without, for. darkening
gray hair. Dissolve a lump of cop-
penis (iron sulphate) the size of a
chestnut (about a teaspoontul) in
a pint or ordinary bluck (Japan)
t-'fi, nnd moisten the graying hair
with It every day tilt you get the
effect of eternal youth.

Marriage no longer Is the only
nor the complete solution of the
question of what a girl shall do
with her life, and modern parents
everywhere are trying realistically "
to face this fact thru preparing ,
their daughters accordingly, to

Not only has vocational prepara
