sented by the Dramatic club at the
junior high Bchool assembly Wed
nesday afternoon was attended by
a large and appreciative audience.
The play, "The First Thanksgiving
Day,1' by Agnes Miller, was pre
sented by the following cast:

Dream," written by Irene Alcock,
a new member of the Dramatic
club, also proved very entertain
ing. The cast included: Greedy boy,
Lucien Smith; his mother, Mary
Frances Mathes; dinner plate,
Margaret Geer;Thanksgiving pies,
Mary Jane Ward, Glena Mlnear,
Carlyn Jane Hill, Marjorle Stewart
and Mildred Buckles; cider jug.
Margaret Blackwell: candy sticks,
Aileen Latham, Dorothy Putman,
Irene Alcock and Betty Vilm. ,
The dances Included in the
"Thanksgiving Dream" were
worked out and directed by Miss
Norvell.
The program opened with two
Thanksgiving songs by the girls'
chorus, directed by Miss Arnold.

The Woman's Bible class of the
Presbyterian church entertained
with a regular social meeting Tues
day afternoon. An interesting pro
gram was presented by a group
of high school girls. Devotions
were led by Miss Catherine Chaney
and several readings given by Miss
Jane Robinson. She waa accom
panied at the piano during a musi
cal reading by Miss Marian Moore.
The girls' trio composed of Flora
McMath, Dorothy Paley and Le
neve Simklns also entertained with
a song. They were accompanied at
the ptano by Miss Moore.

on the subject in the November
issue of "The Parent's MagUine'

. to mothers on the physical and
I mental welfare of their adolescent
! daughter were brought out. Exer
cises were not considered harmful
if not too strenuous, and rather a
benefit in gaining good posture.
1 The diet is important, also plenty
of sleep. Over-excitement is apt
to be harmful. The adolescent
goitre was explained as an enlarge
' ment of the thyroid gland very
common at this age in some local
ities. It should not cause alarm
but a doctor should be consulted as
to its, treatment.
The supply of sewing Is about
completed and new articles wilt be
commenced at the next meeting.
The next meeting will be held on
Friday, Dec. 5 .at 2; 30, The sub
ject for discussion will be . "The
Adolescent Boy," also the results
obtained by the National Health
conference held at Washington,
D. C... recently. Everyone is welcome.
