A Washington dispatch tells
f armors that the "Fanners' Na

year vill "handle proliahly

Vnited states." Mr. Huff; head
of the corporation, does not ad
vise farmers to hold their w heat
for higher prices, hut he docs
believe that prices will be high

poor," as the old Greek said,
and farmers need it.
Conditions arc different in
France, where, the French min
ister of agriculture advises the
peasants to sell their wheat "at
the present high prices."
It will interest American
fanners, selling their wheat at
(it) cents or less, on the farm, to
learn that French peasants are
getting $1.71 i bushel. France
knows how to "stabilize wheat
pftccs" and relieve the farmer.
Our government bought 60,
0(10,000 bushels of wheat to re
lieve farmers and the price
dropped from well above $1 a
bushel to well below 90 cents a
bushel.
There is no secret about
French wheat prices. They arc
due to French belief in protcc-'
lion which has been strong ever
hiico the "field of the cloth of
gold," where Francis first
wrestled with Henry the
Kiglitli. Flour made or sold in
France must contain at least
DO i er cent French wheat ; re
