his mind turn back to the -sweltering
capital today to study gov
ernmental problems of the Dis
trict of Columbia.
For several hours, he discussed
facts and figures with the heads
of the capital's government. Law
enforcement, with particular ref
erence to the prohibition law, and
the budget for 1931 wero given
emphasis. The proposed munici
pal center, property for which is
now being acquired, and exten
sion of the park system entered
into the discussions of tho five
men.
The president wishes to have a
complete legislative progra m
ready for presentation lo cong
ress in December. It was with
this in view that he brought com
miwiioneiH Iteichclderfer, Crosby
and Gotwalls and U. S. Grant, 3rd,
who Is in charge of district pub
lic buildings and parks, to his)
lorlge this week-end.
Mr. Hoover also expects to re
turn to Washington Monday with
plans for his summer vacation in

president wishes to have cleared
up before leaving for the west, the
question of Claudius Huston con
tinuing as chairman of the repub
