her most popular new models
shown recently at the Spring open

about tills fabric is that Its prac

for It may be tubbed again and
again without loosing the lovely
sheen and suppleness of body. The
high neckline Is important this
season in contrast to the backlcis

been a legal execution that gave ;
Hangman's Hollow its name and
that caused so much fear and trem

Carrie "Fosnot and the two Ilouck
girls and a lot of young people who
mingled with the young set on the

was most embarrassing for the
little girls on the 'Tor side" of the
hollow because always after dusk
there came down the shadow of the
"hant" that stalked up and down
Hangman's Hollow, and the young
heroes who talked loudly enoughtn
daylight with their boasts that "I
ain't senrt of a ghost" nevertheless
quailed at thought of making the
crossing after dark.
Hootie Spriggs, who lived on the
near aide of the hollow, once lost
heart at the crossing when he was
"seeing 'his little je-irl friend home
from a party, ami left her stranded
to go across the mysterious chasm
alone, pleading that he had prom
ised his mother that he would sure

his mother with a frown on her
brow that "scart" Hootie Spriggs.
It was the picture of the "hant"
that he might meet as he returned
from seeing his girl home.
For that reason when there was
a party on the far side of the hol

side would get permission from
their parents to stay all night at
the hom's of friends on the far
side, and when the far side young

of any event that kept them after
dark, the near side homes were
filled with victors from the far
