LEGION TO ELECT
SEVEN DELEGATES
AT MEET TONIGHT

AH Legionnaires who have the
welfare of Medford Post No. 15 at
heart nliould turn out for the im
portant meeting at the armory tonight.-
Seven delegates and a Hk.
number of alternates will be elect
ed to represent Medford at the
state convention at this time and
other important business is sched
uled to come up.
An .interesting plan to raise
funds to ttend the Medford drum
corps to the convention will be di
vulged to the members and steps
taken to put the proposition over
in a big way. It is expected that
Medford and the Kogue River val
I ley will sain some splendid pub
licity from the trip, which is esti
mated to cost nearly $1500.
Every I-.egionnu.re who has not
paid his 190 dues as yet is urged
to bring them to the meeting to
night in order to put Medford post
"over the top." The meeting will
start promptly at 8 o'clock in or
der that it may be over in time for
wrestling fans to attend the
matches at the armory.

J. Ludo Grieve, well known em
ploye of the California Oregon
Power company, was a visitor in
Medford Saturday. 'Mr. Grieve,
who Is chief operator of the Pros
pect. No. 2 power plant, located
near Prospect, reports that many
people stop each day to enjoy the
view of the Rogue River gorge
to be obtained from the new ob
servation platform. This new
platform which was recently erect
ed by the California Oregon Power
company, Is located on the brink
of the cliffs above the Prospect
No. 2 generating station and af
fords a fine view of the plant and
the river. The company has also
installed a drinking fountain and
rest room for the benefit of tour
ists and local visitors.

PLAY ON KNX TONIGHT
,"Pop Goes I p." radio play writ
ten by Helen Xorris, will be pre
sented this evening at 8 o'clock
over radio station KNX, Hollywood,
by the players of that station, with
Karle Davis, formerly of Medford,
taking the trading part. The play
will he under the direction of Geor
gia Filfeld.
This play was successfully pre
sented last March over KMKD by
the Copco players, with Karle Da
vis taking tho lead. "Pop Goes
tJp" will be the third Norris drama
to be presented over KNX and oth
ers have been scheduled for the
future.

Two parachute jumps yesterday
a ft er noon by Ilrownie Rai at the
Medford airport thrilled hundreds
of spectator) who had gathered
there to see the jump3 and ride
in airplanes, piloted by John
Waage and V. J. llrown. at one
cent per pound rates. The first
jump was made nt 3:30 nnd the
next was made at G:30. The last
jump was made with a double
"chute" from a height of 2000
feet. He landed on the airport
