ried. But that Is about the way
the affair has turned out. Morley
In 24 years old, and his Intended
bride 23. On April 12 of this year,
Ruth Orant became the wife ol
Cyril E. Markham, wealthy Cleve
land and Philadelphia storekeep
er. Now Morley Is asking J50.000
In a breach of promise suit. The
suit was filed in common pleas
court at Elyrln. O., on June 10,
slightly more than two months
after the date on which the en
gagement was to hnve been made
public.
It was also just three days he
fore the day on which Morley
nnil his fiance would hnve been
married, had the course nf true
love run smoothly. And possibly
there Is a slgnlf iconic in the
chosen marriage dnte which the
couple might have foreseen. The
wedding bod been set for June 1.1.
which fell this yenr. as everyone
