Yet in the environs of Medford dust is more prevalent this
year than ever hefore. This is partly due to the Pacific High
way detour. I'.ut in other sections, the dust I est is more serious
than usual, and in our opinion, more; serious than necessary.
This year .lackson County has road-oiling equipment, it
was used on the Hindis Highway detour but because of the wet
weather with little success. It should and we understand
will he used Ufiain. lint in the interest of belter community
health and business, it should he used (.'encrally throughout

With the peak of tourist travel approaching now is the. time
to jrel busy. If county funds for general application are lack
ing, the city of Medford could well afford to assist the county
financially, in laying the dust, ou all approaches to its boun

Medford and Jackson County during the summer months, noth
ing would do more to promote the public health and comfort
than the oiling of every well-traveled road that is not pa veil.
