described their recent jaunt to
Toronto where the Shrine of North
America staged its annual imperial
session- . "Never have I seen an
imperial session so successful and
never havol experienced hospital
ity, that exceeded that of the
Canadians" said Jerry Jerome and
his opinion was enthusiastically
seconded by the other two special
representatives of Hillah temple,
southern Oregon's Shrine organi
sation. And by the Rogue River valley's
representation at the Toronto ses
sion, southern Oregon gained some
valuable advertising. Shriners from
the eastern and southern parts of
the United States and from various
sections of Canada were eager to
hear of the southern Oregon coun
try and little Hillah temple added
to its already enviable place in
Shrinedom through its capable
representation at this year's con
clave Hillah Is Known '
"No small Shrine temple in the
United States is better known and
has a finer standing in Shrine cir
cles than Hillah," Past Potentate
Jerome said today. "'Through our
active participation In former Im
perial sessions, the southern Ore
gon Shrine organization has made
a real name for itself, and tho
Hillah patrol, through its showing
at v the Los Angeles gathering a
year ago, has also helped a great
deal in putting Htliah temple on
tho Shrine map." f i .. .
O. O. Alenderfer, Oriental guide
a Hillah temple, was especially
impressed with the hospitality of
the' Canadians. '"Tho cause of
peace was given a great Impetus
through the Imperial session activ
ities at Toronto last month," Alen
derfer said. "We were certainly
made to feel that we were welcome
In the Canadian metropolis and
high officials of the dominion were
active, participants in all Shrine
activities. - ; . -( . r '

cause of International peace Is the

Reginald "Rex" Barnett, captain
of, the Hillah patrol and drum
corps and also a special Hillah
representative at the Imperial ses
sion held a veritable reunion with
old ' friends as Rex himself jour
neyed to this country from Eng
land a fow years ago. Captain
Barnett became a figure In Shrine
circles through the- exceptional
showing of the Hilluh marching
bodies at the Imperial session In
Los Angeles last year. f
Following the imperial session
the southern Oregon delegates
visited In eastern cities before re
turning to IS! ed ford. Among the
sporting events, Joromo and Alen
derfer witnessed tho flstc fray be
tween W. L. "Young" Stribllng and
Otto Von Porat, in which tho wide
ly heraldod Norwegian champion
ship contender was stopped by the
phenomenal American..
Stribllng, in Jerry and Ole's
opinions, is a real contender and
shows genuine ring cluss. Proper
handling will make an outstanding
fighter out of "Young" Stribllng
in their opinions.
Tho Stribling-Von Porat battle
was staged in the fine new Chicago
auditorium which houses 21,000
fans under one roof.
While In Chicago, Mr. Alen
derfer visited his mother, Mrs.
Salem Alenderfer who resides near
Chicago and his brother, Walter
Alenderfer who is engaged in busi
ness in that city.

Wlion tlic Trowbridge Cabinet Works started doing; business in Medford in 1008, our
citv was drinking Bear Creek water, we had not a foot of paving anil our population
wa's about 0000. Today Medford is a fine flourishing city with over 32,000 popula-'
lion with the finest drinking water in the world and many miles of paving, etc.
Our plant has grown with the city and today the Trowbridge, Cabinet Works plant is
by far the largest of its kind in Southern Oregon, turning out hundreds of thousands
of dollars worth of fine cabinet work and mill work. We use homo labor and our
mechanics spend their money in Medford making for a better city.
The beautiful new home of McPherson's i.s just one more of the fine jobs of which
we are proud, as we manufactured all of the fixtures and the beautiful store front.
Mr. McPherson is a booster for Medford by giving all of his work to Medford me
chanics. Think this over when making your next, purchase.
