Years Before Civil War,
Called to Reward.
William Unrn, one of the oldest
pioneer citizens of the state of
Oregon., died in bin ninety-eighth

Dorn was a soldier of the Indian
war and was on the government
pension list at the time of his
death. He was horn at Baltimore,
Maryland, Nov. 12, 1 8 i 2 and lias
spent a rugged frontier life of
nearly a century. :

three sons and two daughters, Da
vid and Fred Dorn of Jackson
ville; Krnest of Ch.-halis, Wash.,
.Mrs. Addie T ..mid en of Kern Valley,
Oregon and Mrs. Laura Wheeler.

pital yesterday, which he well
withstood according to a tele
graph message , received from I Jr.
Russell Sherwood today. Me will
be in the hospital for from 10
days to two weeks yet, and then
cannot leave for home until about
two weeks after that time.
The Sherwood family went to
I.os Angeles about two weeks ago
to attend the graduation of Rus
Mfll Sherwood from the College
of Osteopathic Physicians and
Surgeons after five years' of study
there. Mrs. Russell Sherwood and
son accompanied the family back
to Medrord. Russell, following
his graduation, entered the Los
Angeles county hospital as an in
terne, and will he on duty until
next March when lie will1 be" turn

surgeon, and come to Medford to
at once enter practice here.
