In this collection of brief biogra
phics, Mori Hon has tried to ahow
the sincerity and beauty In the lives
of the Puritans, a side . generally
neglected for their gloomier da'
peels. "Although religion was the
dynamic force which gave the Bay
colony character and consistency,"
M orison finds, "it was not an all
absorbing interest."

"The Massachusetts puritans dis
