bridge, will also be provided.
In the evening the guests will

dinner dunce at Hotel Medford.
. Tuesday morning golf will again
hold major place on the program
with u tournament at the Medford
course. This will be followed by a
drive through the valley.

Announcement of the engage
ment of Miss Aileen Crawford,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oris
Crawford, and Mr. George Maddox
of Heattle, was made in this city
Tuesday evening at a bridge party
at the Crawford home on Laurel
street.
Following several hours of
bridge, with four tables In , play, i
telegram from Mr. Maddoxwas re
ceived hy Miss Dee Soheffel, one of
the guests, telling of the engage
ment and naming June 24 as the
date of the wedding, whlch'will be
solemnized at the First Presbyter
ian church In this city.
After the telegram was read the
guests entered the dining room,
where a beautifully arranged table,
decorated in rosebuds and maiden
hair fern substantiated the tele
gram with two large cakes, one
with a' miniature bride In the center,-
the other with a miniature
groom. Canterbury bells and lilies
of the valley composed the place
cards.
Prizes at bridge were awarded
Miss Scheffel and Mrs. Kdward
Leach.
Both Miss Crawford and Mr.
Maddox have participated In musi
cal activities of this city and are
well known here. Miss Crawford re
cently returned .from Chicago,
where she attended the Bush con-,
servatory of music, while Mr. Mad
dox Jh employed in Seattle, where
he Is frequently heard in radio. pro

KJR. They will make their home In
the latter city.

Miss Mercia Miksche, local bride-to-be,

meeting of the Building Bridge
club held at the country home of
Mrs. Carney Thursday afternoon.
