city in the beauty contest at the
Liny' Club International frolic
at Jantzen Ileaeh, l'ortlund, July
1C. No one knows as yet. No
uspiranlti to the title have been
named. Competition is open and
all persons sensitive to beauty, the
one quality yf which the world
never tires, are urged to open
their eyes wide in search for the
lady with a beautiful face, an at
tractive form and lots of personal
charm.
Those are the three require
ments Jean Brault, chairman of
the Medfurd Lions' club commit-'.
tee, which will sponsor the search
here, named this mornillK. ".Miss
Medford" will enter competition
at Portland for the title of "Miss
oreKon."
If she wins out above the other
lovely feminine creatures who will
be entered by all leadlnu cities of
the state, she will be sent to iul
veslon, . Texas, for the Interna
tional Patteant of Pulchritude to
vie for the title of "Miss Uni

proval of experts the world over.

tiful girls ns any other city of Its

Details of the local contest are
not ready for announcement. Mr.
Brault stated this - morning. A
committee has been named to
canvass the merchants to got each
line to find a beauty and sponsor
her In the race. The campaign
will bo conducted in the most eco
nomical way possible and will not
include the choice by ticket pro
cedure used so many times.
The method for Judging the
fairest, has not been announced
cither. The campnlgn will Include
ninny festivities at which the girls
entering competition will nppenr.
All citizens will, at some stage of
the contest, probably be given n
chance to voice their decisions re
garding the aspirants, Mr. Ilrnult
stated.

and motor vehicle figures of 1921
with those of HlliU shows the enor
mous increase in the use of high
ways. At the close of every state

gether with the tax collected in
the District of Columbia, brought

192,138 were surfaced.
According to report made by
Seely V. Hall at the last meeting
of Medford post, American Legion,
a large number of airplanes will
visit the local airport for the pro
posed dedication this summer.
