ford club, working with her com
mittees and tho Grants Pass presi

restricted to tho Mod ford city lim

from Utah several years ago. She
was-horn in Ohio. In 1918 she,
was selected to take over a re-
sponsible position In the internal
revenue department at Washing- j
ton, D. C. under President Wil
son's administration. I
Her former work as a teacher
produced an urge so strong that
she finally accepted tho post of
tcnehlng In Olney school, Astoria.
During tho convention of tho
National Federation- In ill)23, she:
was a conspicuous figure in Port
land, when her club entertained
tho delegates arriving from va
rious parts of the country-
Sho was president of the As
toria club In that year and was
for five consecutive seasons, dur
ing which time sho put her group
among the leaders In tho Oregon
Federation. Astoria club enter
tained tho federation in 1026 and
a record r attendance was regis
tered more than 300 members.
Miss Heylcr does not devote all
her tlmo to work, but finds suf
ficient pauses In tho day's routine
to remain dainty, feminine and
charming.
In the legislative program of,
the federation, sho has been most j
active, and has also taken parti
in the national legislative program I
of tho group.
Miss Heylcr was convention1
chairman In 1127 for both state
and national federation when the
latter was held In Oakland, Cal.
Oregon received wide notice as the
"Heaver State." due to the em
blems she originated. This year
sho has been state membership
chairman and organized tho clubs
In Pendleton nnd Oresham.
Sho has supervised mhslc In
public schools, conducted Junior
nnd senior choirs for many years,
and takes an active part In the
; American Association of Vnlver
I slty women, the National Educa
tion association. Oregon State
Teachers association and the
Young Women's Christian associa
