The first cover spray for cod
ling moth control should be ap
plied this week. Due to the con
tinued cold weather the hatching
of moth eggs was retarded some
what so a spray will yet be
timely If applied by Friday, the
lfith. Kggs have been under ob
servation for some time 'and are
now in the red ring stage, indicat
ing that young worms will bo
hatching by the latter part of this
week.
Uso powdered arsenate of lead
at the rate of three pounds per
hundred gallons of water. Apply
thoroughly to- all foliage and fruit.
Tho timing of the second cover
spray will be governed by tho
moth flight which is being ob
served closely by tho Southern
Oregon Experiment station nnd
