TOPIC AT MEET
The finance committee of tho
city council is meeting this after
noon with representatives of the
Jackson County Humane society
to consider contribution of $l"oo
to the society's construction fund.
This amount wuh promised the
Humane soelety some time ago as
an appropriation for purchasing a
site to bo approved by the Plan
ning commission.
The county has given the society
a site on tho south portion of the
fair grounds and members are now
asking the city for the appropria
tion to be used for constructing
buildings. The site has not yet
been approved by the planning
commission. No forecast has been
made of tho action tho finance
committee may take regarding the
appropriation this afternoon.
CLASS WILL CLOSE

counties will attend the last meet
ing of the Rural Recreation school
conducted at Rogue River tonight.
The school has been in session
for four evenings with John Hrnd

groups of different ages, line
games, group games, relays, folk
