Districts to be changed (Qndor
the now zoning program will be
published for a heai'ln?: at an early
date. Immediate acquisition of
the 300 acres of land on Hoxy
Ann, for which $3600 was provid
ed in the city budget, will be
recommended to the council by
the commission. The city has
until May 10 to purchase the land
from the government. This pur
chase has been recommended by
the park committee of the city
council and the body as a whole
iQpxpected to favor the project.
A complete sketch of the civic
center wiO presented at the meet
ing a considered by the mem
bers of the commission. It Is
located around the present city
park. In accordance with Mr.
Crane's recommendation, bounded
by Oakdalo, Holly, Main and
Eighth streets, It will necessitate
the closing of Ivy street between
Main and rOighth and establish
ment of the proposed county court
bouse on the Washington .school
site.

Under the heading "Major street
ploq," Mr. Crane's recommenda
tion reads: "I would suggest speci
fying that road widths be dedicat
ed as follows: "Along the state
highway and the Crater Lok
highway 120 feet; Jacksonville
highway and the scenic drive not
less than 100 feet; Bear Creek
parkway not less than 150 feet
from the creek bunk to theother
lde of the right of way; all other
major streets not loss than 80 feet;
all other streets not less than 66
feet, and along business frontage
not less than 100 feet."

neighborhood business centers

should be widened so that the
building line will be not less than
60 to BO feet from the center of
the street, and tho jJde streets not

be not less than 20 feot wide."

conditional pardon to Mrs, Kuth
Baker, who was sentenced March
16 to serve six months In Yamhill
county jail and who gave birth to
a child a few days later. She was
entenced for possession of a still.
The conditional pardon was recom
