Medford The Center of
Hydro-Electric Development
Medf ord, because of its position in the center of the
widespread territory served by The California Oregon
Power company, is the location of the home office of this
company, as well as the headquarters of the Rogue River
division. , ' ..-'-',- ! , . '
Two power , plants are located 'neat Medford, one at
Gold Ray and the other at Prospect. Prospect No. 2 is
the largest hydro-electric plant in Oregon and considered
a model of-its kind, generating -02,000 kilowatts with an
ultimate capacity of 48,000 kilowatts.' V . : v ; , v. .
Medford is to have a new $200,000 substation, to be
