giving day dinner at the homo of
friends.
Pauley's physician said the middle-aged
coal company executive
was seriously ill several months
ago.

ruinous, even though they were

There is nothing unusual about
the plot, howevci the novelty
euines in the way the story is en
acted, including some very marked

good comedy trimmings and the
lavishness and elaborateness of the
night club stage scenes. The din
ing and dancing floor is claimed
to be the most elaborate ever con
structed for mien scenes in a movie
and the effect on the audiences of
immensity is heightened by trick
j photography and settings. At times
J the scenes move so fust in kaleido
scopic activity ns .to almost bewil
der.
"Broadway" Is the stpry of a
liquor gang feud centering in a
night club, into which a couple of
innocent and' ambitions hoofers
are deeply enmeshed, and . after
two gangster killings are finally
freed to love in peace ever after.
