Last year the Washington team journeyed Into Oregon an overwhelming favorite to defeat the W'ebfooters but the Huskies were smothered under a surprising 20-to-7 score. Yesterday the Oregon eleven came to Seattle a big favorite to trounce Washing ton, which has lost Its first three starts this season. Faced with stern necessity of winning, the Husky players were expected to make it at leas,t Inter esting for the Webfooters. Al though Coach Enoch Hagshaw re signed, effective last Wednesday,' he offered to remain in the coach ing position until the end of the 1S29 season. " The Oregon team came to Seattle with three of its regulars on the injured list, (ieorge Btadclman, stellar center, was left at home with a broken ankle. - Jerry Rob inson, negro halfback, and Austin Colbert, tackle, were hurt last week and it was improbable that Ihey should see action today. " De spite this fact the Oregonians were n heavy favorite to win the battle. New Combination Coach Bagshaw has experimented with seveial ..different backfields this year witli little success and planned to send still another com bination against Oregon. The start ers today were expected to he Mit telstedt, quarterback; Merle Huf lord and Chuck Roseuhan, half backs; and 1)111 Marsh, fullback. This was to be Rosenhan's first starting lineup. Coach Howard Jones' Trojans were here to meet Stanford today in their annuul battle which this year will virtually eliminate one or the other from the championship raeo. Stanford faced the invaders with only one regular on the Injured list, half a dozen others having recovered from a bad knee epi demic that struck the Warner squad early this season. Pete Heiser, first string guard, will view the proceedings from the bench, his place being taken by Ray Daw son. Southern California pinned her hopes for victory on the powerful and speedy running attack that has enabled her to score 209 points already this season, plus a line that averages liiti pounds from end lo end.
