COME
The Rogue-Elk Inn
Rustic setting In the mountains.
Where the pine tree lifts Its
head, ' '
Where the Rogue River murmurs
softly.
As it flows o'er- rocky bed;
Whero Elk Creek's lazy waters
' Blend with Rogue's bold dash-.
Ing spray, -.
That's whore ' Rogue-Elk Inn
awaits you,
Walts, and welcomes you to stay.
On the way along Roeuo River. ! "
Where the gamey , Steelheads
wait,
Where the friends of Isaac Walton
Pause to troll with shining bait,
Where the pine trees on tne moun
tains '''.
Murmur soft, as breezes wake' .
Sweetest musla mid their branches;'
On the way to Crater Lako.
Under tall trees by the river. '
In the welcome shade, so cool,
Here the traveler loves to linger,:
By tlhe side of sparkling pool,.
Where the speckled beauties
glisten,
Hero Is where real life begins. .
On the banks of the Rogue Ktver,
At tho famous Hogue-Klk Inn.
Endless pleasure, here, awaits
them, k '
If they love the larger life
In the mountains, near to Nature,
For removed from strife,
Listening to the gentle murmur
Of the Rogue, nt close of day.
Or the whispers In the pine trees,
At tho time when fairies play. .
Evening's lure, so well portraying,'
At the setting of the sun,
As they dnnoe amid the shadows
Wlien the work of day Is done
Hero we find, amid the mountains;1
At the close of summer's day,
Quiet, peace, and Joy entrancing, -
'Tls our wish to always stay. -
Nature calls us with the muslo '
Of the water and the wind, '
lilds us look to God who loves us.
Bids us tuke our cares to Him;
And 1f we would learn life's les
sons, .' - -larn,
for us, the one, best 'way, '
We should spend some time with
- nature,- ' -
Where, tho fairies dance and play
Neath the tall and bending tree
tops, '
In the shadows, nnd the rho'on '
Seoms to hang so close above us
Coaxing lovers fond, to croon
Of the futuro days, so splendid.
As they, 'their new life begin;
Such a place you'll find near Med,
ford, . 1
'And 'tis known as Rogue-Elk
Inn.
Famous for fine chicken dinners,
Famous for. It's paintings rare;
Famous for It's sylvan setting,
Famous for It s mountain air; .
On the banks of the Rogue River,
On the road toward the rim
Of Crater Lake, you're welcome,
At the famous Rogue-Elk Inn.'
