, FROZEN JUSTICE'
THRILLING STORY
CAVES ROAD PROJECT.
' M15DF0RD MATTi TRTRUN1';, MEDFORD, OIK(iQNT, FRIDAY; OCTOrsF.I 2 V 1J12D.
OF E
"Frozen Justice,' 'u. melodra
matic talklns film story ot a naif
east Eskimo Kill, starring Lenore
Ulrich, well known actress of the
leKltlmato stajjo in her first talk
Ins film, a news review and a very
laURhabie short talkins comedy.
".Man o' War," is tho pleasing 1I11
which opened at tho Craterian
theater yesterday, to run afternoon
and night dally until Sunday. Fea
tures of tho news review aro Pic
tures of Connio Mack, manager of
..the world champion Athletics, anil
his two aides, Eddie Collins and
Kid Gloason, and of the Cubs'
stars, and a song by three of the
Cub players.
"Frozen Justice" tells tho story
of tho longing of tho half-breed
girl her father a white man and
her mother an Eskimo for the
wonders of her father's world of
whlto people, and Us portrayal by
an excellent supporting company,
brings out tho dramatic gifus of
Miss Ulrich, Robert Haupt, Itobert
Frazer and the broken-nosed Louis
Wolhelm, and some more of the
humor of El Brendel, who was last
Been hero as tho Swede In "The
Cockeyed "World."
Although Miss Ulrich shows her
self as a finished and very likable
actress on the talking screen, as
wcll'aa on the stage, she Is more
pleasing and convincing in tho lat
ter part of the picture as the pretty
dance hall girl In the home than
as the attractive young wife of the
Eskimo chief In the first part. '
Much artistry Li shown in por
traying the scenes of the frozen
north with Its fields of ice, treach
erous avalanches and dances and
songs by the natives to their sun
guds, and giving glimpses of home
life in the Igloos. The scenes in
the Nome streets, barrooms and
dance halls during tho gold rush,
when tho "social life" was one con
tinuous whoopee affair, arc also
very entertaining.
Especially picturesque and awe
insulring are the scenes in this
frozen drama of the north, of tho
ice floes crushing In tho traders'
ship, the awful death of the vil
lain later on when great Avails of
snow and Ice close In on him. A
couplo of murders and several
fights furnish some of the other
thrills.
While "Frozen Justice" is not ex
actly a Sunday school drama, It Is
not very conspicuous as an un
clean one, and anyone going to
witness "Frozen Justice," expect
ing to see and hear something es
pecially rich and racy, will prob
ably be disappointed, but well en
tertained. 11. A. K.

Silvertown
came back for more
Eighteen thousand six hundred and ninety-nine iiiilca!
Any way you look at it that's a lot of milcugc! More
mileage, prolmhlv, than you drive in 8. .10. .12 months!
But . . . 18,699 miles . , . think what that means to
the lire!
In this case it meant iee, snow, rain, mud, desert
sand, mountain roek. An average speed of -15 miles
ter hour. Day in and day out traveling for months.
It meant that 670 times a mile . . . 30,000 times an
hour . . . 12,565,7 15 times all told ... a road came up
and hit it!
For this is one of the tires of the Silver Fleet. It had
traveled through dozens of stales when this picture
was taken . . .
And not the slightest sign of trouble! Not a moment
out of service! Still contains the original air . . . after
mileage enough to put the ordinary tire completely
out of service!
, What is it you huy when you go out after tires? Per
formance, isn't it?
Well ... here is an example of what is possible with
Silvertowns. What is huill into them. What you can
get out them.
And it's just one example taken from the record of
live dozen casings that have mude the sumo, trip!
Drop iu to see the nearest Goodrich dealer before
you huy new tires. He has tires just like this in his
stock . . . ready to put on your car.
