month or six weeks front Sardine,
Gall, Trail and Sams creeks In
Jackson county by the state game
commission under the direction of
W .R. Coleman, state superinten
dent of fish screens. The actual
work was" done by Thomas t'lng
ende, who spent several weeks lh
taking the fish, between two 'and
three Inches long, out of shallow
pools' and plnclng them hack In
Rogue lvJr. '
The poof condition of the water
courses mnde It impossible for the
fish lo find their way back to the
river and Would hnve otherwise
been doomed to death. Over S7.000
fish alone were taken from H-ir-dlne
creek. Including a small
number of fish "salvaged' from
other water courses, the total for
the senson's work, which was only
recently completed, was announc
ed yesterdny by Mr. Coleman as
