Paul McKee, former general
manager of the California-Oregon
Power company in Bouthern Ore
gon, and Mrs. McWee arrived in
Medford today and will leave to
night to visit the former's parents

the middle of November for their
present liome in ltio Jaulero,
South America. While hero Mr.
McKee consulted with Copco offi
cials In this city, and also with

enthusiastic over the natural beau
ties and business opportunities of
the Brazilian metropolis, but still

TEXAS TOWN SHAKEN
BY EARLY TREMORS
DIO SPWrtOS, Texas, Oct. 18
(P) Hundreds of residents hero
were awakened early today by the
rattling of windows und brlca-brac,
believed to have been caused by
earth tremors.
,The first of a series of shocks oc
curred at 12:30 a. ni. The lust was
registered shortly before 7 o'clock.
Residents, who reported they count
ed five tremors, said the last was
the most severe. All of the shocks
were if a few seconds' duration.

couver, H. C.t and Miss Margaret
Watson of Los Angeles, were pa
tlents today at the Community
hospital, as the result of an nuto
crash north of Central Point last
night on Illackwell Hill when a
car, in which they were riding
and which was driven by Robert
Thorpe of Vancouver, collided
with a coupe driven 1y KldreU
Williams of Central Point.
The Thorpe machine rolled over,
damaged Its top and lost two
wheels. The women were report
ed to be In a satisfactory condi
tion this nfternoon.
