As a preliminary to the opening
of the Intor-scholastlc debate sea
son, a series of inter-class debates
will be held at tho local high
school, starting tho first week in
November. Faculty directors will
be as follows: Miss Mary (illhert,,
seniors; Miss Maurlne Johnston,
juniors; Kalph Halley, sophomores
and Mrs. Josephine Kmitli. fresh
men.
JOach class will have both affir
mative and negative teams, each
made up of threo members.
Speeches will be threo minutes In

before tho study halls, and the

Rural schools m Jackson county
for the month eliding September
27 had good attendance records,
according to figures completed to
day by the county school superin
tendent's office, revealing that
seven districts had 100 per cent
attendance and that- one district
was down to a percentage of 83.
