ford cedar were seriously threat
ened. A favorable wind during the

day saved the town of Towers from
destruction by sweeping the flumes
away from the city. The same wind

ever, sent great sheets of fire Inlo

o'clock tomorrow morning at tho
fair grounds south of Medford.
Tomorrow will he Children' Day
a tul school student are expected
to be present from all parts of the
county to take part In the parade
in wiilch nil rural and city schools
nre urged to he represented.
The parade will begin at 1:15
and en t rants are reminded 'to be
present at 12:30 or before for the
organisation nf the 'procession,
winners of which nre to he given
cash prizes for attendance. At least
from ail to 75 per cent of -the
school enrollment of the county 1
expected with the majority of the
schools being dismissed early In
tiie day.

Music will be furnished during the
races by the Ashland band.

A visit to the fairgrounds this
afternoon revealed a beehive of
Industry In all departments. The
majority of the livestock, poultry
and rabbit exhibits were In place
and exhibits In the horticultural
