Eddie Dowllng Is a smalltime
minstrel man who adopts the little
hoy, Frankie Darro, after his fa
ther, Oeorge Hayes, is victim of
a vaudeville accident. Marian Nix
on is the daughter of a small town
hotel proprietor. She falls In love
with Dowling while his troupe is
playing her lown.
The plot goes forward through
sunshine and tears and comedy,
seasoned with episode drama, until
finally the lovers are Joined in a
touching scene wherein the rain
how of their romance comes shin
ing through.
The melodies nf the production.
"Rainbow Man." "Smile. Little Pal."
and "Sleepy Valley." are of n pleas
ing quality, reniiuiscent of "Honey
moon Lane" and "Log Cabin ol
Dreams."
Here is a sound film romance
which Justifies the "talkies." It is
one of the best screen entertain
