also discussed at today's meeting.
That the "This is a Great Coun
try" slogan card, put out by the
Realty Hoard, must remain in Med
ford and not he carried off by the
tourists, was another decision
reached by the board. Many of
these cards have been carried to
various parts of the country and
the slogan identified with other
localities, according to the mem
bers, who emphasized the fact that
it was the idea they wanted tour
ists to carry away not the cards.

BIG ORCHARD DEALS
Ajprohard deals aggregating $22,

' the Wold & Wold agency. The
pear, cherry and apple orchard
and dairy, near Gold Hill, owned
by William Hittle, were sold to C.
L; Woodford, and Mr. Woodford in
turn sold his l-acr pear orchard
which adjoins Don Clark's orchard,
to Mr. Clark. The Hittle ranch
deal Involved $12,000 and the other
deal Sio.oou.
The Hittle ranch is said to be
one of the most beautiful places
around Cold Mill. It also contains
some, historic old Indian mounds
from which many arrow heads,
beads, obsidian knives and other
relics have been taken."

to Medford before' he was sold '
on the idea of attending the Sun- ;
set Trail pageant in Eugene. It,
took tho Medford boys to do it. I
so he is leaving his car In a local
g." rage and accompanying the Med
ford drum corps to the northern
city In their special car. today.
What Vic really came down to
do was to sell the idea of the Amer
ican , Legion state convention,
which will be held In Salem. Au
gust 8. 9 nnd 10. to the entire local
membership. He was told to ped
dle his propaganda to towns less
lively, and that the local pst had
sold themselves on the idea long
ago. ' j
Among the attractions to be wit
nessed at the state convention, will
be the drum corps contest. In which
Medford 'k group will participate;
airport dedication, championship
baseball game at Olincer field, this
being the finals for the Junior lea
gue of the entire state; the big
convention parade with five band-.
beautiful floats and military par
ticipation, and carnival attractions
for ' the kiddles. There will also
be dances at nil the dance pa
vilions and gardens, with special
features for the delegates.
