bushel, as the week end passed
without inin. In thet northwestern

Pessimism over the crop outlook
extended to three continents. Fear
for the crop in Australia and the

developed increased irregularity, to
thei grain markets, wheaL advanc
ing1 3 to 4 cents- a bushel in Chi
cago and as much as cents in
Winnipeg. Credit conditionst were
slightly easier, call money renew
ing at 7 per cent for the, iirst time
in about two weeks, 'with '& fairly
plentiful supply available.
With the exception of the utili
ties and u. few specialties, several
of which made new highs, the trend
was downward in the last hull' hour.
General JSlectric sold at oU2, a now
high, and record prices were also
established by Detroit Edison,
Louisville Gns, Weatinghouse Elec
trict first . preferred and . North
American, up 2 to 10 points. Sell
ing appeared in some of the oils,
with Iteacon and Sinclair down 2
each and Houston 3. Allied
Chemical dropped 15 pinls and John
Mannville slumped 4. The close
was irregular. Sales approximated
