in six weeks.
Fate once more descended on
this home. Five weeks after the
last toxin antitoxin Injection the
boy complained of a sore throat
and had a hhcli fever. The family
physician diagnosed diphtheria of
nose, larynx and throat. He gave
the boy at once two-thirds as Iare;e
a doso of antitoxin as ho had fllvon
the Kirl wjio died. Then the other
third two days later. The boy
improved steadily, until the sixth
day, when his heart bej;an to show
some nij,'ii of wt'ukeniiiy, and in
spite of all the doctors could do
the boy died on the seventh day
of illness.
Subsequent the family 'phy
sician told the father that- It is
now believed the process of 1m-
mu nidation lakes six months in
stead of six wee Its. The father-
says this traffic experience has
shaken bis confidence in the toxin
antitoxin immunization, and If t,t
takes six months for the full Im
munity to develop that loaves -
