thought it best that Andrew
should call the wedding off. Miss
Dolly stepped into the loom at
that time and said she wished to
have the engage ment broken, as
tho was to marry Johnny Jessup
as soon as her parents, the

Uliton yesterday removed from his
archives the issue of Sunday, Octo
ber 31. J'.ion, in which Mr. I'.lton,
now, of the California Oregon Pow
er company, sang his swan song as
editor. The paper, then the "Med
ford Morning Mail." was amalga
mated with th Medford Tribune."
The editorial among other things
says:
"The Mail made soim1 friends and
sonic enemies and all have pros
pered to some e.Mont through its
efforts. To its , friends, we have
only this to say. we are glad of
their prosperous coalition; and,
to our enemies, we don't give a
whoop. If they have prospered, it
wasn't our fault."
Mr. Uliton also editorially an
nounces, he is "not going to walk
out of town, as some may have pre
dicted.' and intends to live in Med
ford the rest of his days.
The leading article on the front
