sented at the big dedication to
morrow of the new Hionchi bridge
over the Smith river on the Red
wood highway, .near Crescent City,
Cal., which does away with the
last physical barrier on that high
way between Sart Francisco and
Grants Pass, and fs exncVted to
have a great bearing on the de
velopment of northern California
and southern Oreuon.
However, the city generally will
be represented hy C. K. Gates, lo
cal member of the state ' highway
commission, who left last evening
for the dedication, scene, expecting
to be joined at Grants Pass by Mr.
Chandler, state highway engineer
It is possible that other Mud ford
citizens will be present.
Mayor Pipes, the city council and
othor cily officials were invited to
attend, but none could spare the
time to make such a long round
