On Friday evening. May Hist, pu

cademy presented a not her recital
to an overflowing house at the Vln
Ing theater, Ashland, and, Judging
from the hearty applause In re
sponse to each mi m I r, It was
more than evident that the efforts
of the dancers appeared to be
highly appreciated by the audience.
The children were mil in excellent
form lind 'rendered the dances,
both difficult and simple, with easy
grace and assurance. The Argen
tine Tango seemed to draw fonh
the longest applause, as though a
repetition Was desired.
. "The Night Wind," by Holon
Wood, l accompanied by Hetty
Hrown, on the organ) with special
lighting, and In all Its wlcrd beauty
In dance and music, was greatly
appreciated.
The program was practically the
same as al the Craterian on May HI
and I I, with iwo addit Ions "The
teapors," by Margaret Mann and
Helen Wood, a beautiful interpre
tive dance, Including Ihe Augelns
at the finish and the Kcupcrs rev
erent pose. This number, accom
panied by Miss Hrown, on the or
gan, and the clear, beautiful
chimes, was certainly pretty and
Impressive from start to finish.
Another new and most effective
number, "The Sprite of the Hose,"
was cleverly, rendered by Marjorle
McNair. Thn seltlng for this danco
.was Indeed beautiful, as the spot
light focused on a huge five-root
rosebud, which slowly opened
while the song "Hunch "f Vesler
day' was beautifully sung by Miss
Wright and MIsh Hager, and Ihe
Silver Sprite of the Hose, Imper
sonated " by Marjorle McNair,
danced out. This was n plquante
toe number, (o the popular music
Pllylyicatl, wllh difficult steps very
well rendered Indeed.
"The Moth," by La.Murle Heck,
was exceptionally well rendered,
the peculiar attract ion to the
flame, the fear of being burned,
and the singing of both the wings
and final collapse, coupled with
good toe work, made this number
a success.
The GypMU'ii executed tholr lively
number to perfection,
The Holland Kiddles were per
fectly at, home with the dunce in
tt,helr wooden shoes.
The Japanese Maids, (with still
two subsl Itutes) executed their
(plaint little dance with lighted
lanterns and fans with much grace
and rhythm.
The Acrobats did more stunts
than ever, with ease and good bal
ance and received a very good
hand.
The Jazzy Solo was very well
rendered and appeared o meet
with good favor. ,
Pierrette was Indeed at I raellve

dancers. I'nfortunaiely, through

and with perfect insurance.
The son shoe and tap numbers
were both accurately ami Interest
ingly rendered.

entertaining number If rendered by
I.a Millie Heck, as the Flirt, with
La von Anderson and Doreen Lev
