toba settlements for the, last three
days 'Were checked' today ufter de
stroying most of Cranberry Port
age mid the little mining town
of Mile 83.
The 300 population of Mile 83
is homeless and scores are with
out shelter In Cranberry Portage.
The latter town was destroyed by
a forest fire, while tho Mile 83
blaze was started in a frame house
there. The provincial government
has undertaken relief measures.
