Possibly the grange lend In social
orgunirntlon. for the grunge defin
itely places a moral responsibility
on Its members to work for the
interests nf Ihe comAiuntty in gen
eral, and the people tn It In partic
ular; to work together, each for
the good of all.
The grange was organised, not
only to work for the financial In
terests of the, farmer, but for their
social (moral and educational) In-
te rents. And Is It not a fact thnt
our moral and Intellectual self is
our real self? What Aye have on
our backs or tn tho hank can easily
slip nway, but what we huve in
our minds nnd hearts no man ran
take from us. '
And to Ihe lecturer In particular,
but to all in general, is assigned
the task to "develop and direct to
greater usefulness, the latent abil
ities of our members.'

pictures, framed for presentation
to the four public school buildings
of the city. The pictures are
handsome reproductions of a
painting of "Old Ironsides," a ves
sel, that has a history frought
with historic interests.- , -
At the close of a very pleasant
