aid in prevention of fires In na
tional forests by construction and
Improvement of roads and trails,
fire lines and lookouts, la pro
posed by Senator Cutting. Repub
lican New Mexico.

sion with but measer funds for
fire prevention, which Is acknowl
edged to be the crux of the fire

His bill also contains a provision
for yearly expenditure of .9200.000
for construction of range improve
ments in the forests to enlarge
the use of the ranges and to make
possible development of new for
age areas for grazing stock.
He hopes to obtain passage of
the bill at the next session of
congress. "
